This branch of Ayurveda is one of the most important branches of Ayurveda and deals with the preparation of medicines from various natural sources. Herbo- mineral products are found to be more efficacious in the clinical management. The formulations are prepared by utilizing the herbs found in the region of the individual and customize the same based on the need of the health seeker.
The aim of this branch is to design formulations that are most potent utilizing metals and minerals in lesser dosage without much emphasis on the constitution of the patient. It deals with formulations to bring them into practice by revalidating it and also modify the preparations based on the current needs and practice. The ocean of traditional formulations is made into newer forms by adopting modern techniques
Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana: The Department is fully equipped with various instruments, specimens, models, charts.etc. All essential practical are carried out in the Laboratory as per syllabus. This branch of Ayurveda which deals with the preparation of medicines by using Kashtaoushadhi (Herbal), Rasoushadhi (Mineral) and Kashta-rasoushadhi (Herbo-mineral). Kasthaoushdhi includes different parts of the herbs both in wet and dry forms.
1) To prepare various Ayurvedic formulations so as to impart practical knowledge to the students.
2) To focus on Analytical study for the Standardization of Rasakalpas.
3) To arrange visits to various G.M.P. approved Pharmacies, R & D centers & Pharmacy colleges
4) To build a strong foundation for future Ayurvedic Pharmacists & Rasavaidyas.

With the help of well equipped labs, this department imparts training in medicinal chemistry and preparation of highly potent medicines from minerals and metals. Knowledge of Ayurvedic Pharmacy encompasses field identification of medicinal plants and other natural substances, collection and storage procedures of raw materials, preliminary processing of raw drugs, elaborate and sophisticated methods of pharmaceutical processing and preservation of prepared medicines.
