AYURVEDA is a science of life. Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life. Ayurveda is attributed to Dhanvantari, the physician to the gods in Hindu mythology, who received it from Brahma. Its earliest concepts were set out in the portion of the Vedas known as the Atharvaveda.
Ayurveda is a system which gives importance to prevention subscribing to the theory “Prevention is better than Cure.” The main focus of Ayurveda is on healing illness, prevention of disease, longevity or age reversal. Illness or disease is caused by poor digestion and weak immune systems.
The main aim of the college is to provide a good education to become Ayurvedic Doctors. It is an all-round development of students to become mature, self-sufficient, intellectually, culturally refined, socially efficient and spiritually advanced. Professional education played a very important role worldwide in the last decades of the twenty-first century.
Dhanvantari, the Hindu God in ancient Indian Medicine is comparable to Aesculapius of Greek medicine.
